Commission Structure

Understand how Evarpex calculates commissions so you can price confidently and maximise profitability across product categories.

How Your Commission Rate Is Chosen

Every product on Evarpex belongs to a category. Each category can have its own commission rate. If a category doesn’t have a special rate yet, we use the platform’s standard commission (for eg. 8%).

When you list or edit a product, the category selector shows the exact commission percentage so you always know what will be applied.

What We Deduct From Each Order

When a customer buys one of your items:

  1. We multiply the item total by your commission rate to get the platform fee.
  2. We charge VAT (7.5%) on that platform fee only. VAT does not apply to your product price.
  3. The rest of the money is the amount you earn for that order.

Worked Example

Imagine you sell a ₦10,000 item in a category with an 8% commission:

  • Platform fee = 8% of ₦10,000 = ₦800
  • VAT on the platform fee = 7.5% of ₦800 = ₦60
  • Total deduction = ₦860
  • You receive = ₦9,140

This breakdown is exactly what appears in your order details and payout statements.

When You Get Paid

  • Orders become payable once the parcel is delivered and the return window closes.
  • The net amount (after commission and VAT) moves into your seller wallet.
  • You can then request a withdrawal or leave the funds to pay for future services.

If an order is refunded or disputed, we adjust the wallet entry before the payout happens.

Tips to Keep More of Every Sale

  • Bundle products or upsell accessories so the platform fee is spread across a larger basket.
  • Keep returns low by listing accurate photos and descriptions—fewer refunds mean steadier payouts.
  • When you add a product to a category, you’ll see the exact commission percentage for that category (for example, 8%). Adjust pricing accordingly.
  • Watch your dashboard. You can download statements anytime to plan promotions and pricing.
